As we were getting ready to head out last night, I sat down at my vanity and just did not feel like doing green makeup. So, inspired by Marlena’s (from Makeup Geek) Colourful Smoky Eye from earlier this week, I thought I would put my spin on it. As you can see she used bright, yet soft colours in her look.
I wanted to create something similar, but I felt like using brighter and bolder colours.
So here is what I ended up coming up with:
For this look I used the following eyeshadows:
Yellow – Bright Sunshine by MAC
Light Green – Bio Green by MAC
Darker Green- Kelly by MAC
Teal – Teal from the MAC Duo Palettes
Purple – Indian Ink by MAC
Highlight – Forgery by MAC
For the remainder of the look I used:
Eyeliner – Blacktrack Fluidline by MAC
Mascara – Clinique’s High Impact Mascara
Lashes – Ardell Demi Wispie False Lashes
Brows – Filled them in with Mystery Eyeshadow by MAC
Lips – Clinique’s Watermelon Long Last Lipstick (swatched here)
Face – For foundation I used Makeup Forever HD Foundation in shade 118, for powder MAC’s Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Shade “Light Plus”. I also used the Powder Blush and Bronzer from Too Faced’s Natural Face palette (still need to post about this!)
I hope you all like this bright fun look. Get out there and have some fun with your colours now that Spring is here!
Thanks for reading,
The title of this post screams Summer to me…so it feels a bit strange to be posting this considering we got hit with a snow storm yesterday…but here we are. 🙂
A couple of months back, a fellow blogger – Tina, requested a look from the MAC Pro Palette that I got in December as a gift from my then fiance. She wanted to see Bright Sunshine Eyeshadow and Lime Eyeshadow together in a look.
So let’s see how it turned out:
What’s on my cheeks? Dollymix Blush by MAC
What’s on my lips to make them look so lovely? Oyster Girl Lipglass by MAC (Yes, it is sticky – ugh, but it persists so well through eating/drinking, etc)
Do I even have to ask which eyeliner? No, as usual it is Blacktrack Fluidline gel liner by MAC
This look was really really simple to create. I only used the two shades and they blend together very nicely and easily. I’m hoping this one gives you all the courage to experiment with some brighter colours, it isn’t so scary!
Thanks again Tina for requesting this colour combination and I hope it is close to what you envisioned!
I never thought that the man in my life would tell me something about makeup that I didn’t already know. But that day came and went, over a month ago. When my then fiance went to Vegas for his stag, being the sweet man that he is, he went shopping for me. He walked into a large MAC store and asked what they had there that I wouldn’t be able to get in Ottawa. He proclaimed that I had a lot of their products and he wanted something for me that I couldn’t already have.
He discovered their “Pro” line of cosmetics. They have a great deal of eyeshadow shades, lipstick shades, different eyeliners altogether and a great deal of product that you can’t get unless you are at a MAC Pro store. You can check out the website here: http://www.maccosmetics.com/macpro/index.tmpl. But don’t get too excited, you can’t purchase anything online unless you have an actual pro membership. But if you are instore, you can purchase anything you like. For a store location near you follow this link: http://www.maccosmetics.com/macpro/locator/index.tmpl. (They only have three locations in Canada – Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal). That would make the closest MAC Pro store to me about 2.5 hours away in the heart of Montreal. I will certainly be stopping there on our next Montreal visit. I should probably start saving now….
Somewhere in the blur that is the past week, I got married! Hence why my posts completely fell off the face of the Earth. I will get to talking about the wedding soon enough, but for now I have some catching up to do.
People started flying in and the whole week went by in a blur. I’m now back at work and wondering where the time went. No more trips to the airport now, everyone has gone back to their respective homes. Whether that be Calgary, Arizona, North Carolina, Toronto, Kitchener or Bayfield. For the first time in a week, we are able to relax and spend an evening, just the two of us. I plan to wear pajamas all night and do some rewinding – I’ve missed this!
Before the insanity truly began – let me back up to a week and a half ago. James’ groomsmen were throwing a small stag for him, locally, here in Ottawa for the people that weren’t able to attend the Vegas trip. And one of my girlfriends was furious that the men got to go out AGAIN and we were going to be stuck at home. So we decided to get all dolled up and head downtown for some drinking and dancing. For those of you that know me – you know that the drinking comes before the dancing!
